To all 2019 Sponsors, Exhibitors and Attendees,
Thanks to your involvement, the 53rd NEC/AAAE International Aviation Snow Symposium, held in Buffalo April 27-May 1, 2019 was an enormous success! In fact, it broke all records for attendance as we had over 900 attendees. As chairman, I want to personally thank you for attending the event. The generosity of our sponsors, the eclectic and interesting mix of exhibitors, the energy that flowed through the venue and all the numerous compliments from our attendees, provided all the elements for a memorable show.
Hats off to the Snow Academy Committee! The stellar reputation this educational program has built over the years is one of the driving forces behind the steady growth of the Snow Symposium. We added a military session called the Air Force Snow & Ice Control Management Course which was a huge success with over 70 students. All told, we had over 300 students in attendance. In its fourth year, the Snow Plow Rodeo and BBQ featured over 25 drivers competing for impressive prizes. The Keynote Speaker, former CIA Operative Michele Rigby Assad, impressed the crowd with stories about her career and why she "Broke Cover."
Special thanks to the Snow Symposium committee, the hardest working committee I've ever been blessed to be a part of. Their dedication, creativity and laser focus made my position as chair one of the most satisfying moments of my career.
By virtue of our great educational opportunities, the great general sessions, the engaging concurrent specialty sessions, the amazing networking and the sharing of best practices, we have surely met our goal of enhancing safety at airports across the globe.
On behalf of the NEC/AAAE, International Aviation Snow Symposium Committee, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and the City of Buffalo, it was our pleasure to present the 53rd International Aviation Snow Symposium. We certainly hope that you enjoyed yourself and it was a valuable learning experience. Please respond with any thoughts you may have that could enhance our program in the coming years. We hope you can join us again next year at the 54th NEC/AAAE International Aviation Snow Symposium from April 24-29, 2020.
